Saturday:
Me, Brittany, and KayCee went out to Greenwich to see the Naval Academy where they filmed the Les Mis movie. It was fun but I think I'm a little museumed out so I didn't want to spend a lot of time there. We walked through the chapel and the hall and saw the big boat and the Maritime Museum. They had an exhibit on the Titanic which was really cool. Then we walked through the market there and it smelled so good!! There was a lot to look at and we had a lot of fun. Then we came back and watched highlights from the Derby races on tv. Then we went to the Queen's Gala concert at Royal Albert Hall and it was amazing! It was so fun to be with all the British people and see their unity and love for their queen and their country! And the two singers that sang with the Royal Philharmonic were so good! Wow, it was a great night :)
Sunday:
We went out to the Thames pretty early in the day to watch the Flotila Pageant. It was kid of hard to see because there were so many people but I got some good pictures by holding my camera up above the crowd. It was really cold and raining too so me and Meghan got totally soaked. We had to walk pretty far to get home because all the tube stops near the water were packed with people. So we walked all the way from The Strand to the Green Park tube stop. We were so cold and wet by the time we got home. Then we came home and just chilled til the devotional. We had the news on and just watched recaps from the pageant. Then we had the devotional and after we planned out some of our Paris trip. We leave Friday!! So weird! I can't believe I only have a few days left in London!
Monday:
We had class in the morning and my alarm didn't go off so I was running a little late. I got ready pretty fast and ran all the way across Hyde Park to get to the London Centre and I was very proud of myself because I was only 10 minutes late. So I walk in and go upstairs and look around the classroom and realize that I didn't know any of the people in the room. So I walk back downstairs and look around and no one from my group is there. Then the lady in the kitchen told me she thought we were at the Hyde Park Chapel for class. So I felt so stupid and really embarrassed as I walked all the way back across the park and then down the street to get to the chapel. I was 40 minutes late... let's just say I was not in the best mood. So after class I came home and tried to get some blogging done and I finished up all my homework. I had really wanted to go to the Diamond Jubilee Concert but then I was in a bad mood and didn't want to go all the way over to Buckingham Palace. But a little bit later I decided to just go so I headed over to Buckingham Palace. I sat there for about 3 hours and read Twelfth Night while I waited for the concert to start. I'm so glad I went!!!! It was absolutely fantastic!! It was so fun to be in this huge crowd with all these people! I could even see the stage just barely from where I was standing. I was pretty much in the front of the huge group down the street leading to the Palace. I was right behind the first screen and could see the stage underneath the screen. It was so amazing! And Ed Sheeran was so so so so so so so good!! Ahhh!! I love him even more now because he is so amazing live! He just announced his US tour this fall and I am definitely going to see him in Denver in September :) I can't wait!! So the concert was one of my favorite things I've done on my trip and I'm so glad I went :)
Today!
This morning we were supposed to go up to Abbey Road but my alarm didn't go off again :( So I got up and me and Meghan walked down to Buckingham Palace to see if we could watch the procession but all the viewing areas had been blocked off. So we ended up coming home and watching it on tv. Then when the Queen was on the balcony they moved everyone up and let all these people crowd in so we totally could have seen it if we had stayed! Ugh, so we watched the whole thing on tv and now we are watching recaps of the concert from yesterday and recaps from today and stuff. So this weekend has been so much fun and I'm so happy that I was able to be a part of Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee :)
Later we are going to our last show as a group, Twelfth Night. It is the same cast that we saw in Comedy of Errors so I'm a little worried but hopefully it will be better than that.
Pictures!!!!
