Then we went home, ate a snack, and decided to try and see the British Museum before going to a show. We mapped out how to get there and headed to the tube. Everything was fine until we got off the tube and I decided we needed to go left when we really should have gone right. We walked forever and couldn't find the street we were supposed to turn on. We were already cutting it kind of close because we wanted to try to get tickets to a show so we decided to just head over to the theater. We thought we were really far away from it so we were trying to find the tube station and turned the corner to find that we had already made it all the way to the theater! We found a map and realized we had turned the wrong way out of the tube station and walked forever without realizing it! Haha, it was so crazy! We had about a half hour so we ate our dinner and sat at a little restaurant while we waited. So we tried to see Sweeney Todd but they didn't sell student discounts for the show. We decided to go try and get tickets for The Woman In Black instead. We walked all the way over to the theater and this show didn't start til 8pm so we had some time to walk around. Finally it was 7 and we were able to get some discount tickets! We had some time because the doors didn't open until 7:30 so we found a gelato place across the street and ate some delicious gelato! It was amazing! I had the raspberry and Brittany had a chocolate hazelnut one that had a name that was really hard to pronounce. They didn't have any tickets left next to each other so we ended up sitting in front of one another. We were so close though! Our tickets were in the 4th and 5th row. It was amazing! The play was a little different from the movie but a lot of it was the same. It was really scary and we jumped quite a few times! The acting was phenomenal! We both walked out of the theater in awe of how great the acting was.
So we had a crazy day of walking around and getting lost but now we know quite a bit about central London and now we definitely know how to get to the British Museum. Next time we won't get lost... I hope :)
The fountain at Piccadilly Circus
So creepy!!
It's Drury Lane! We didn't find the muffin man though :(
I cute little restaurant on Drury Lane
Raspberry Gelato! Yum :)
The bathroom at the theater was sooooo tiny!! And it had a cord to pull to flush and I thought it was cool :)
Getting lost on the way to the British Museum is nothing to be ashamed of. It's a twisty sort of walk to get there! As a hint, there are maps a lot of places, especially at bike rental places. They're tall and blue or black. Helped me find my way around! I wish I had known that sooner!
