May the 4th be with you!

So today was pretty chill. I slept in til 9 and then got up and got ready, at some food, and headed to the Globe for our tour. It was really cool! We actually got to watch the cast of Richard II rehearse while we looked around the theater. Right now they are doing this big Shakespeare festival where they've assigned all 37 of Shakespeare's plays to different countries and they all come and perform them at the Globe. They all perform the plays in their native languages as well so Richard II was done by a group from Pakistan in Arabic. They have these signs up on the wall that explain important plot points so you can follow along so that helps a lot. We are seeing one of the few plays they are doing in English but the pamphlet says it's in Hip Hop. Hahaha, so we are seeing Hip Hop Othello! I'm so excited :) It's being done by a group from Chicago and I can't wait! I also bought a ticket today for Macbeth which is being done in Polish. It's going to be so cool! I also want to see Much Ado About Nothing and that one is in French but I'm not sure if I'll be able to go the days it is playing. We found out that they are also building a replica of an indoor theater right next to the Globe so they can do plays all year round. It won't be finished until the end of 2013 but that just means I'll have to go back :) Our tour guide said they are also hoping to be able to use candles to light the theater just like they would have done back in Shakespeare's time. That's definitely something I would like to go see! After we walked around the Globe and the little museum we came back home and ate some lunch. Then I decided I needed to just try and get some homework done so I got quite a bit done in between falling asleep... I was pretty tired so I was falling in and out of sleep but I did get some homework done. Then me and Brittany went grocery shopping and now I'm watching Tristan and Isolde with some girls while I blog and finish my homework :)
