Downtown, dancing, and a heat wave...

So basically, we wouldn’t have done anything cool this weekend without Natalie! She is awesome! On Friday night we went down town and walked along the wharf. It was so beautiful! There were boats everywhere and lots of cute little restaurants that we want to eat at. We also found some really great souvenir shops that we are definitely going back to! Then on Saturday we ran some errands with Natalie and then she took us to Piha beach. It is a black sand beach which was really neat to see. It burned our feet a couple times though! Also, the water there was crazy! It was super rough and the waves were huge. You can only go into the water til it’s about waist deep because otherwise the current will pull you under. I didn’t go past my knees though because I was too nervous. The current was soooooo strong! Then we came home and went to a homecoming for one of Jivarne’s friends. They left on their missions at the same time and are really good friends. It was so fun! There was a ton of food, singing, and a dance afterwards. We were all out there dancing with Nan, Pascal, Jivarne, Sizzle, and Snowden. It was so much fun! I did a lot of dancing with Sizzle and Snowden. They were so cute! I kept trying to teach them dance moves and they were doing so well! It was adorable. We were so sweaty though when we got home because it was super hot. Then today we went to church and we were all so tired. It was also really really hot! Sizzle slept on my lap all through Sacrament Meeting and Snowden slept on the bench. There is a cute Korean couple in our ward named the Hans. Sister Han gave a talk today and it was awesome! She gets really nervous about speaking because she doesn’t think her English is very good but she did really well. Jivarne taught our Sunday School lesson which was also really great and I loved our Relief Society lesson. This ward is just the greatest ward ever. I love it. After church we all came home and took naps, worked on homework, and made cookies. Then we went to a BBQ with all of the girls and our host families. It was fun to meet everyone else’s host families. I still think ours is the best though. Haha J I love the Josephs. We went to a setting apart after the BBQ. Here, setting aparts are a big deal. They have a whole meeting and people give talks and then we all get to watch them set him apart to be a missionary. Then once he is set apart, he bears his testimony and talks about how excited he is to go on his mission. It was so cool! Then there is, of course, a bunch of food. Sizzle slept through the whole thing on my lap. Haha, she has declared us to be best friends. It is so great! Her and Snowden have totally attached themselves to me. They are so much fun! Then when we got home tonight we had scripture study, sang some songs, and just talked. I also made some more cookie dough with Pascal and read a bedtime story to Sizzle and Snowden. I really feel like they have adopted me into their family and it is so much fun! I love being here and I love being with my host family. I’m so glad I decided to come J

 Piha!
