Spiders and Small Spaces

Alright so first off, I met my host family yesterday and they are super nice! They have 5 kids. Their oldest son is 21 and just got back from his mission in California. He literally just got back on Friday! Crazy! His name is Jivarne. Then they have a daughter named Cheyenne. I’m not sure how old she is because we haven’t met her yet. She’s at EFY this week being a counselor. Then there’s Pascal. She just turned 15 and she’s really nice and talkative. Their two youngest are Snowden, who is 7, and Danszel, who is 5. They are the cutest, craziest little girls! They have so much energy! So we got here and met the family and then they said that they are going on holiday this week so we won’t see them until next Saturday. We are house sitting with a family friend named Natalie. She is awesome! She grew up here in New Zealand but her dad is American so she’s lived there too. She was so nice and drove us all over to show us around and help us find all the places we would need to go. Then we stopped at McDonalds to use the wifi because we don’t have wifi at our house yet. Apparently our director is supposed to set it up for us but we weren’t aware of that. So hopefully we will have wifi on Monday but we’ll see. Then we came home and we had noticed, while we were unpacking, that there were a few spiders on the ceiling so we had vacuumed them up. However, when we got home there were more and they were everywhere! I found at least 20 and vacuumed them up! Then Rachel found an ear wig type bug on her bed. I didn’t sleep well in the tent and I don’t think I will be sleeping well here either. Ahhhhhh!!! I am not a fan of spiders, in case you couldn’t tell J Also, our room only has enough space for one person to maneuver at a time… there are 3 of us. So it’s been interesting and will be hard to get used to. But I’m trying to be optimistic! So we’ll see what happens.

Today was our first day at church. It was so great! Everyone here is so nice and welcoming. It’s like being a part of a huge family. I love it! We met a ton of people today and all of them are so sweet and fun to be around. I just can’t get enough of the people here! They are literally the nicest people I have ever met. We went to choir practice and I’ve already been asked to help out with piano and music stuff. It was really fun! I felt like I was in the movie The Other Side of Heaven when they all sing at the end because it sounded just like that! It’s amazing! I can’t wait to go next week. When we got home we talked to Pascal for a while. She is so dramatic! Hahaha, it’s awesome. She’s going to EFY this week and she’s really nervous so we just talked to her for a while and told her how much fun we had when we went. She is going to love it!

 Makeup is super expensive here!!

Crazy!
