Today was interesting… James told us that we were going to pick avocados and to just come next door when we were ready. So we ate some delicious pancakes for breakfast and then got ready and headed over to pick avocados. However, when we got there he told us that we were taking down an old wood and wire fence. So he gave us some hammers, clippers, and crow bars. We were all in flip flops and shorts and we were trying to knock down this fence. It was definitely something I've never done before and wasn't really anything I’d like to do again. Yeah… but when we finished we finally got to pick avocados! We had this really long pole and we were climbing ladders to knock them out of the trees. It was so fun! Some of the girls got hit in the head with falling avocados but I successfully dodged them all! Then we spent the afternoon at another beach and it was gorgeous! It literally looked like a postcard. The water was this beautiful turquoise color. It was amazing. I’m still super sunburned from out last trip to the beach though so I just sat in the shade and read The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I’m about half way done with the book and I love it! Then we came back and I made a grilled cheese sandwich for a snack. So good! Then we went out to a cute little Thai restaurant for dinner. It was the best Thai food I’ve ever had! Now we’re watching The Bourne Legacy and hanging out until bed. Tomorrow we are headed back to Auckland to meet our host families! Yay for getting to sleep in a real house in a real bed! I’m so excited! Hopefully they won’t judge my sunburned, no make up face. Haha, it’s pretty bad but I can’t wait to be out of that tent!
Brittany in the avocado tree!
We picked sooooo many! This is just one bucket!
The beautiful beach we went to!
Seriously looks like a postcard
I'm glad you're having to do some hard work and tough out some hard labor while you enjoy the most beautiful beaches! ha ha jk. But it sounds like you're having an adventure! Love the pictures!
